It all began with some grade school doodles of a pig and a rooster. Then magically (50 years later), I had a dream about the duo starring in their own comic strip. And Voila! Norton & Ruford came to fruition. The vision involved the two of them just standing around a barnyard talking.
The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. Part of the joke would be they would hardly move. In our fast-paced world, I felt this helped convey that life on the farm moves at a slower pace, and there was always time for a friendly chat. (Plus, it allowed me to be really lazy.)
In another display of sloth, I also decided no additional characters should appear in the strip. The secondary individuals would only get mentioned. This concept leaves more to the imagination of the astute reader. (Plus, it allowed me to be really lazy.)
Anyway, thanks for visiting with Norton & Ruford. Please ignore the lackadaisical artwork, the lack of character development and unsophisticated humor. If you can get past those minor flaws, you might enjoy this endeavor.
